Try-It Days are made for younger children and first time paddler youths to have a short (5-15min) experience in our Sprint Kayaks. Some Try-It days are at West Lake and some are in the Pool.

August Summer Camp
A morning & afternoon half-day camp is offered for one week in August. Programming includes water safety, paddling time, beach activities and games. Aimed at Ages 7-12. Sign up for one or both sessions. Must be able to swim.
BC Summer Games Training Camp

Hosted by Canoe Kayak BC, this 4-day day camp helps prepare athletes interested in participating in the 2020 BC Summer Games in Maple Ridge. Experience in Sprint Canoe/Kayak is not required.
Location & Dates
PGCKC trains at West Lake Provincial Park launching from Camp Hughes. We supply the Paddles and Boats, but paddlers must bring their own lifejacket.
We have two main Sprint Programs and the Sprint programs are divided into two teams with 7 weeks of practice in each:
Athletes can sign up for one or both teams.
A paddler can sign up for Recreational Team A and then register in Competitive Team B.
At the end of each Recreational Program, Team A & B, we will hold a Fun Regatta - "Race your Parents" event.
At the end of each Competitive Team Program, Team A & B, athletes will have the opportunity to participate in a Regatta. **Regatta fees are extra
BC Summer Game Dates
Recreational Paddling 7 Week Program
This program is perfect for the new paddler or for the paddler looking to have fun without focusing on training for a Regatta. Paddlers come out to the lake on Saturdays for 3 hours of pleasure boating, water safety skills, beach activities and games.
Competitive Paddling 7 Week Program
This program is aimed at paddlers who want to focus on their technique, strength and speed. Athletes will learn both Canoe & Kayak skills and train in single (C1/K1), doubles (C2/K2), and team boats (C4). Paddlers will learn about participating in Regattas and the BC Summer Games. Athletes commit to 5 hours of practice per week. An additional afternoon of slalom training will be provided.
All Prices include Club Membership, Club Insurance, Boat & Paddle Usage, and Coaching
Paddlers must bring current lifejacket, water, dry clothes,snacks etc (registration package will have full details)
