PADDLING ADVENTURES FOR KIDS

OUR PROGRAMS

Kids! Come PADDLE with us!

Come Paddle with Us down at West Lake (Nadsilnich Lake) Provincial Park – there are so many great reasons!

West Lake is about 30mins from town, with lots of parking, easy and accessible walking trails, a dog-park with beach access, great places to have a picnic or bbq, observe the eagles, fish, kayak, canoe, SUP, waterski and more! You can even camp nearby at West Lake Campground.

The Prince George Canoe & Kayak Club runs paddling programs at the Lake from June to August (usually the best time when the ice is off the lake and the water is not too cold).

Some sports require almost no equipment and other sports require you to purchase all the equipment; but the PGCKC has invested heavily in boats, paddles, lifejackets and all the other gear required so that our NCCP trained volunteer coaches can give kids their first chance to learn to paddle or even help them on their journey to competition through developing their skills at the BC Summer Games.

We are always looking for more coaches to join (Summers at the Lake, Fall/Winter/Spring at the PG Aquatic Center) – so you can sign up to take our Coaching Courses – and once you complete the minimum # of volunteer hours – your coaching fees are reimbursed by the club.

NEXT COURSE: May 26th (online portion) & June 1st (in person portion) – SIGN UP HERE (in partnership with Engage Sport North and Canoe Kayak BC)
