About Us

The Prince George Canoe and Kayak Club was born in 2012 and run by a dedicated team of parent volunteers and coaches in particular, Mark H. and Gemma H..

In 2018, new leadership & coaches stepped up so that Gemma could persue her education/career in the south.

Our club believes that all kids should have the opportunity to learn to paddle, understand boat safety, respect the environment they paddle in, and have fun on the water.

Our Programs

Our club offers kids of all experience levels, ages 7-18, the opportunity to learn how to paddle Canoes and Kayaks.

Our Boats

Our club has a number of types of boats for kids to learn paddling including Canoes, Sprint Kayaks, Touring Kayaks, and Slalom Kayaks.

COVID19 Return to Play Policy & Procedures

The current version of our Policy & Procedures for Return to Play due to COVID19 are here. Please download and review.

All participants (and as necessary, their Parent/Guardians) will be required to sign their agreement to the Code of Conduct prior to the start of each days' programming.

Did you know?

  • In 2022, the BC Summer Games come to Prince George!
  • Our season is very short due to cold water temperatures during spring and fall, and ice over winter

Volunteers & Sponsors

Our club is primarily volunteer organized and run.

If you or your business would like to become an official sponsor - please let us know.

Donations are welcome so that we can purchase more boats or other equipement so more kids can paddle.

But Donations of Time are just as valuable.

Volunteers can help with:

  • club administration
  • marketing &/or fundraising
  • officiant (judging races)
  • beach safety supervisor
  • water safety supervisor
